Members of the Islamia College board, staff and students, as well as the family of Imam Imam Abdullah Haron, gathered at the school for the unveiling of the plaque in memory of him and all those killed in detention during apartheid. This year marks the 50th year since the killing of Imam Abdullah Haron and the family and public insists on justice be served to those responsible for his murder while in detention. A leader in the Muslim community as well as an activist against the Apartheid regime, Imam Haron will remain an icon in South African history.
