Who we are

Islamia’s vision is to produce well balanced, enlightened, empowered, independent-thinking, conscientious human beings, subscribing to Divine guidance and emulating the ideals of prophetic examples who play a constructive role as compassionate, informed individuals in society.

Islamia College was founded in 1984, and was located in Rylands Estate, Cape Town, South Africa as the Habibia Girls College. It was founded under the leadership of the community based board of directors. The College started with 2 grades and 47 students in the storeroom of Habibia Masjid. The institute is now based at Lansdowne Road, Rondebosch East and has grown to a campus with five components.

Application Olympiad Finalist

A huge congratulations to Yasmeen Noor de Villiers who has been selected to take part in the finals of the Applications Olympiad in Cape Town on the 18 June 2019. Yasmeen will also represent Islamia College at the awards function which will be held on the 19 June 2019. Annual Ramadaan Hifth Competition Finalists

Well done to Zahraa Abrahams who came in 3rd place and Safiyyah Galant in 2nd place at the 8th Annual Ramadaan Hifth Competition. It was held at Town Centre Mosque and open to both males and females who compete separately, where prize money was awarded to the top achievers.
