Two Islamia College learners, Ekran Noor (Grade 11) and Uzair Noordien (Grade 12) have participated in the WCED District Public Speaking Competition on Saturday, 11 May 2019. Both learners proudly represented Islamia College and participated in the mother tongue category of the competition. There were 17 participants from various schools across the district who represented their respective schools in either the non-mother tongue or mother tongue category of the public speaking competition which was held at Herschel Girls’ High School. Although the competition was tough, Ekran Noor achieved 2nd place for her speech titled “ Crimes against humanity” in which she focused on Islamophobia. It is a great achievement indeed. We are proud of our learners as they have held the ‘Islamia College Flag’ high.
