We thank the Almighty for having afforded us the opportunity to benefit from another blessed month of Ramadān. May Allah accept all our efforts, forgive us our many shortcomings and keep us guided towards all that is best for ourselves and our community. Since Ramadan is a period of introspection and self-correction, the spirit of Ramadān should continue to inspire us and motivate us to strive towards a higher degree of excellence in all our endeavors.
We realize that we can only succeed in our mission if we build on the achievements of our past by learning lessons from our successes and errors and by devoting ourselves to develop whatever is best for our collective future. So, as the blessed month of Ramadān passes and we joyously celebrate ‘Eid-ul-Fitr with our loved ones, we remember those pillars of our institution who are no longer with us, especially the former chairman of Islamia trustboard, Haji Abdul Razack Osman, who served Islamia with selfless dedication. May Allah grant them Jannah and reward them according to the best of their deeds. We beseech the Almighty to grant us the conviction to continue their noble efforts and to take Islamia to greater heights. In the coming months, insha-Allah, we intend to unveil new plans and provide better facilities to fulfill our mission of facilitating the striving for excellence and taking Islamia to the next level.
On behalf of the Islamia Board of Trustees, I wish you a very happy ‘Eid. May the Mercy and Blessings of the Almighty be with you, your family and friends during this auspicious day. May the year ahead increasingly be filled with health, prosperity and happiness. Let each letter of the word “Eid” remind us of something noble; E – Embrace others with an open heart, I – Inspire everyone with a positive attitude and D – Dispense goodness to all.
We pray that you have a spirited ‘Eid and we urge all to radiate love and joy to people of every faith and all communities; on ‘Eid day and everyday. ‘Eid Mubārak!
Message from Mr Nazier Osman (Chairperson of Islamia Board of Trustees)

One of the offi ces which the Academia Centre will be accommodating, IBERR (International Board of Educational Research and Resources), has been working on a book project called Skills for Life. The Skills for Life books for age 4 – 5 is undergoing its final edit and is soon scheduled for print. These books are the first two in a series to help children understand their place in the world. The topics covered enable children to make informed, morally responsible and accountable decisions about their health and well-being, of others around them, as well as their environment. They will have a better understanding of civilisations, past and present, and how it impacts on our lives.

Alghamdulillah, our school is indeed blessed to have 31 students who are full Ghaafith of the Quran. These students, in addition to their academic work, are shining lights to both staff and learners and it is indeed heart rendering to see them during intervals and in between classes making use of the time to revise their lessons for the evening. Six of our Ghuffaath have brought renewed spirit to the Loop Street Mosque whilst all the other Ghuffaath are spread far and wide over the Cape. We thank them for their magnanimity.

The presentation impressively done by the eloquent speaker, was equally given additional motivation by informed questions posed by the students. The esteemed A’lim was humorous, but astute in his talk and captured the attention of all learners.
The ideal in life is to work hard at whatever you are doing so that you do not have any regrets afterwards.
“Nothing in life comes without effort”
